About Our Funeral Director Izzy!
Hello everyone,
I am Isobel but everyone calls me Izzy! I am the Funeral Director here at Isobel Whittaker Funeral Services, as well as jointly owning the company with my husband, James.
I’ve been in this industry since I left college; starting off my journey with a family-run, independent funeral home who gave me the opportunity to learn and helped me to find a full-time job. I then moved to a large funeral home where I started as an administrator then as an operative then a funeral director. Moving through different positions has given me valuable experience with all aspects of funeral arranging.
My time working for these other companies has proved that this is not just a job for me – it is a privilege and an honour to care for every family that comes to me in their time of need. As a funeral director, the most important thing to me is being there for every family every step of the way. From bringing their loved one into my care and arranging the funeral service, to interring ashes and arranging memorials. Any stress I can take off your shoulders, I am more than happy to do so!

In the time I have been working in the funeral industry, I have taken care of families of different faiths, beliefs and traditions and they have taught me so much and opened my mind to different ways of thinking.
